The Fashion Movement: HAUTE Gets a Makeover

Quietly and without much fanfare and hoopla HAUTE the accessory show, the platform exclusively for accessory designers has been re-branded to become HAUTE Accessories Week. The event which has experiences tremendous growth and success since its inception two years ago will again be held at Hunter’s Green Country Club in Tampa Florida. September 6th is the date slated for the main runway presentation; an accessory designing workshop and a boutique shopping event will be incorporated in the 2013 program.

For the past two seasons HAUTE has grown exponentially to become THE PLATFORM FOR ACCESSORY DESIGNERS who desire to show and market their brands in a retail setting. When the event was conceptualized a few years ago the ultimate goal was to make it a week geared exclusively to the accessory designer and the accessories market, focusing on the retail segment. We strongly believe 2013 is the year to do that.

Following up on the success of past presentations, The Fashion Movement will bring another stronger array of designers to the 2013 edition of HAUTE Accessories Week. Prior to the main runway event a workshop teaching how to make various accessories will be held; this will be open to the public for registration. A boutique shopping event where accessory Designers products are available to shoppers is also planned.

Interested Designers please email haute@thefashionmovement.com

We look forward to seeing you at HAUTE Accessories Week 2013.

Color is the New Black

by Ta'Nashea McLeod

I'm loving this playful and colorful layered necklace and earring set by Farrah Estrella Jewelry.

Command attention in this light blue easy-to-wear plus size faux wrap, short sleeve ring dress by Avenue.

I recently revamped my closet with a few colorful additions. In the past if you were to take a tour of my closet, you would have been met by a sea of black. So needless to say this color overhaul was badly needed.
I’ve always considered myself a fashionista despite my failure to abide by a few of the age old fashion rules. You know the ones don’t mix patterns, never wear white after Labor Day, and don't even think about combining your metals. Well it’s a new day in fashion and those rules are old news.

The one rule I’ve heard most over the years is "wear black because it’s slimming." I will admit as I got older and curvier I fell victim to this way of thinking. I’ve now come to the knowledge that it’s not necessarily the color of the garment, but more importantly the fit that determines how flattering it looks. Thanks to Avenue Fashion for Women Sizes 14 & Up I got the color fix I needed. Color is the new black!!!!

Create your own love story with this sleeveless, romantic ruffles, and ultra-feminine fuchsia dress by Avenue.

Add white hot style to your wardrobe with this one button plus size blazer by Avenue and nude heels by Steve Madden.

Get a cool, edgy look with this hot pink, princess seamed, mixed zip and button hardware blend cropped chino jacket by Avenue.

Don't for get to break the rules with an unexpected splash of color. I was comfortable and chic in these mustard colored open toe flats also by Avenue.

My side pocket front tie dress, belt, sunglasses, and clutch are all part of my many thrift store finds!
