You
probably have seen Ms. Tina strutting on the catwalk in the “Paris in
Springtime” Fashion show in Tampa Florida as well as on Facebook and magazines.
Soon she will be walking the runway in the Embrace Fashion Show Charity Event August 5th.
Tina
is a Florida native having grown up in Ft. Lauderdale with a “simple
lifestyle”. One of four siblings she didn’t have her own room until she was 16
and her brother finally moved out! Her grandma is her best friend that
encouraged her fashionable pursuits by buying her Ms. America make-up kits.
Her
road to modeling had its road blocks. “I was the quiet girl that read books”
says Tina, “but I loved being in front of the camera until that awkward
pre-teen stage”. In her teens she attempted to start modeling again but being a
curvy girl many agents told her that she had the look and they were interested
if she lost weight.
Tina
confessed that “it took me a while to muster up the confidence to embrace my
curves” and that she “didn’t like the stipulations that were put on models”. So
when she was ready she resubmitted to an agency as a plus-sized model and has
been modeling for the past three years.
When
asked about her short-term goals, I was surprised to hear that she has a
passion for radiology and wants to go back to school to become a radiology
technician. A true renaissance woman that wants not only to be signed
exclusively with an agency but become a make-up artist and continue to learn
about photography.
Long-term
goals for this uniquely beautiful soul, is to finish school, marry her longtime
boyfriend, and someday become a mother.
